Directly out of my mailbox:

Congratulations! You have been selected as a semi-finalist in the 2014 Guthman Musical Instrument Competition.
We are excited to invite you to join us on the Georgia Tech Campus in Atlanta to share your instrument with judges
Young Guru, Chris Moore, and David Zicarelli as well as with fellow contestants and the Georgia Tech community.

The competition will take place on Thursday, February 20, 2014 and Friday February 21, 2014.

This year’s competition received a record number of submissions, and the work of this year’s semi-finalists
represents the very best in new instrument design, engineering, and musicality.

Description
Exhibition of Experimental Sounds, Sculptures & Installations

Curated by Lee-Ann Joy.
http://soundforumleeann.wix.com/sound-forum

Contributing Sound Artists:
Tara Cook, Rodney Cooper, Richie Cyngler, Michael Graeve, Lee-Ann Joy, Jordan Lacey, Larissa Linnell, Eliot Palmer, Rebecca Pohlner, Pierre Proske, and Vijay Thillaimuthu.
International: Bogdan Dullsky, Margriet Kicks-Ass, Justin Marc Lloyd, Neur(o)N, Sebastian Sighell, Leo Weinberger and Zoy Winterstein.

Noise music and sound art are areas of music that are elusive to many; it is an area where people explore sounds outside general rules of composition and arrangement to create an unaccustomed, non traditional type of music.
Often these sounds are derived from the natural environment, created mechanically from electronics, found objects, or many sources other than what we are familiar with in terms of commonly known traditional instruments and the sounds they make.
Our sonic experiences often have a customary response to predictable sounds that we hear and provide an audible familiarity in which we articulate as music.

E.S.S.I. is to distort the audible familiarity and customary responses and adapt the sonic experience into an exhibition of sound that is non-customary and unfamiliar. It is to challenge all notions as to what we traditionally quantify as music and explore uncustomary sound as a legitimate form of art.

Please come and join us on the opening night and share a few drinks to celebrate the opening of E.S.S.I and meet some of the most accomplished sound artists in Melbourne, as well as a collection of some of my favorite international sound artists.
We would love to have you there to join us.

MARCH 2013:

whole month artist-in-residence @ artspace Flipside Eindhoven.

A research about water & sound, resonance, composition, presentation and combination.

All about:
*Which objects will resonate the most interesting?
*In what way is water behaving like a filter, and what kind of filter?
*Does different fluid materials make different sounds?
*How can I make different compositions by controlling the resonance?
*Which sounds I do like, and which not?
*How can I use the theatrical aspect the best?
*What am I going to do with the visual aspects, not loosing the functionality?
*Water, sound, composition and presentation, enough to explore!!

FEBRUARY 18TH TILL 21OF FEB:  SELECTED FOR THE SONIC ACTS MASTERCLASS OF CM VON HAUSWOLFF & MIKE HARDING
CM von Hausswolff (SE) is a composer and a conceptual artist. Sound recording devices are his main instrument as a composer;
as a conceptual artist he works with performance art, light- and sound installations and photography. Mike Harding (UK) is a curator,
producer, lecturer and music publisher. He runs the Touch label together with Jon Wozencroft. In the masterclass led by CM von Hausswolff
& Mike Harding, participants will work on their own version of freq_out.  For freq_out – a concept by CM von Hausswolff – twelve participants
are allotted ranges of frequency within the audible sound spectrum. Participant number one will be allotted 0–25 Hz, number two 25–65 Hz,
and so on. Over a period of four days, the task of the participant is to compose one sound work each. The work cannot contain any sounds
beyond the allotted frequency range, but can be of any length and is played back as a loop. The final work consists of 12 smaller works joined
together into a whole. Participants: Alonso Vazquez, Virginie Dubois , Francesco Gagliardi, Gabey Tjon, Margriet Kicks-Ass, Perrine Bailleux,
Sergio Gonzalez, Stig Steijner, Jukka Boehm, Anna Orlikowska

MY CROWDFUNDING PROJECT FROM NOVEMBER 16th UNTIL JANUARI 16th:

My new project "SPLASHBOX" needs some funding for the final design.
This prototype enables underwater vibrations to become audible for public.
I'm building compositions with the resonance of selected iron objects under water together with the sound of water.
While I'm playing a mini-camera is registrating her actions, and meanwhile projected on a big screen.

The goal is to publish a new cd with these sounds and to arrange new concerts and performances
in different places and countries. The cd will be free for the funders and appear on her website to buy.
People who fund will receive a newsletter with dates and places to see THE SPLASHBOX live.

Soundart is becoming more and more visible and audible in mainstream events.
But still needs some support. I think that the public is underestimated by festivalprogrammers.
Most people do enjoy a different audio and visual experience as usual!
