27TH OF NOVEMBER 2014:
Playing at OORSPRONG/STEIM bi-annual project 'Een Osmotische Avond/An Osmotic Evening'
edition November 27th at STEIM location.
The concept refers to Osmosis as a metapher and frame in which electronics is confronted with a different
improvising discipline (dance, instant poetry, acoustic music etc) in order to create an ad hoc artistic and
social situation with the common urge to explore human communication and develop small unpredictable improvised utopiasonics.
Electronics improvising peformers will include:
Eliad Wagner - Robert van Heumen - Margriet Kicks-Ass + Improvising voice master - Han Buhrs
Selected in a compilation of sound works of female composers working professionally in the sonic field, from all over the world (Vietnam, China, South Africa, Bolivia, Venezuela, Mexico, Australia, Europe and the US ) called Urban Arts Berlin.
Vrooom is an (ir)regular DIY event series mostly taking place at the Kapelzaal of Het Klooster,
a venue which is located in the old north of Rotterdam. [Address: Hammerstraat 63, Rotterdam]
We focus on experiments in left field music, improvisation, electro acoustic, electronica and performance art,
adding dj's, visuals or anything else that excites. Freeform fun, implausibel en overtollig vet!

10 & 11 OCT 2014:
Invited to play on the wonderful electro-acoustic stage during the 17th birthday of ADM in Amsterdam.
The ADM is now for over 17 years a community of people who are closely linked to each other by the space they share.
The cultural free-haven ADM is one of the last large live/work communities of Amsterdam.
On the terrain reside now some 125 people.
Amongst them are; children and pensioners, theater-makers and stage-builders, inventors and technicians, dancers and musicians, actors and directors, crafts-men and women, sailors and buccaneers, life-lovers and ‘different-thinkers’...
Experiment, exchange and spontaneity have ensured that the ADM has acquired a place in Amsterdam’s cultural climate.
The ADM is, as many other (squat) communities, a fertile germination place for the local and (inter)national cultural climate.
Communities as this (at the fringes of the city) appear to often play a leading role for what is now called the Creative Industry.

17th SEPT 2014:
Selected for the Sonic Acts Masterclass of Anthony Mc Call, in close collaboration with the EYE Film Institute
Click HERE for more pictures of the Masterclass on my Flickr Account.
The masterclass provided a unique opportunity for professional artists, musicians, composers, film makers,
academics and advanced students to gain in-depth insight into McCall’s concepts, working process and methods.
Anthony McCall (UK/US) has a cross-disciplinary practice in which film, sculpture, installation, drawing and performance overlap.
McCall was a key figure in the avant-garde London Film-makers Co- operative in the 1970s and his earliest films are documents
of outdoor performances that were notable for their minimal use of the elements, most notably fire. He gained international
recognition through his ‘solid light’ film series, notably Line Describing A Cone (1973) which was presented at the Sonic Acts festival in 2010.

14th SEPT 2014:
Proud to be a part of Joep van Lieshout's HAPPY INDUSTRY in museumpark in Rotterdam.
Click HERE to see more pictures of Happy Industry on my Flickr account.
Happy Industry is a local neo-Industrial Revolution. The festival is a celebration of the return of the raw industry, in an age of computer aided
manufacturing, back to the origin of making. Industry and physical production to the edges of our world seemed banned out in today's world but will be the centre of Happy Industry. A reinterpretation of industrial production and revaluation for raw materials are the driving forces behind the creation of a temporary settlement in the museum park, around a casting shed with a primitive workshop. Artists, designers and makers - Peter Rogiers, Rossella Biscotti and Kevin van Braak, Frederik Molenschot, Paul Geelen, IJzerij Paul, Atelier Van Lieshout -
experiment with industrial production and will with grinding machines and smoking furnace melting, smelting and forging.
Happy Industry offers the public a program of music, film, performance, food and beverage. This merges with the manifestation of the production processes and raw industrial character. The music program includes the presentation of a symphony for a forging hammer,
a sound performance by Margriet Kicks-Ass and a performance by the duo Bismuth. The film program consists of the projection of montages,
documentaries and films, and a collaboration with choreographer Karin Post and EYE. Artist Mia Andresen organizes a continuous massage performance in and around Darwin, where the hard workers and exhausted visitors can find relaxation. During Happy Industry thus continuously cast, melted, forged, danced, ate, drank and massaged.
During Happy Industry Institute the new institute organises an additional program including artist talks and workshops for young people.
Between the sparks and the lubrication of furnaces and machines artists, makers, scientists and children are reacting on topics such as industry, production and consumption.
JULY 2014: ARTIST IN RESIDENCE AT SATELLIETGROEP (BADGAST) IN DEN HAAG:
In july 2014 I did a residency at Satellietgroep Den Haag, the coastal project called BADGAST. During 10 days
I made a lot of pictures and recordings outside on location. A research into the direct environment.
Creating a composition of sounds of under and above the water. Using the primal elements (water and
wind) as a red thread in the composition leaded by my own interpretation of the theory of avantgarde composer
and visionair Karlheinz Stockhausen. This recordings will published on a vinyl record next year.

7 TH OF JUNE 2014: Urban Exploreres Festival in Dordrecht. Live performances in a cellar-setting.
Working with ice, smoke and other elements in an arctic setting.
Get pleasantly lost in the multidisciplinary labyrinth of Urban Explorers Festival 2014 in Dordrecht, where
sound is made tangible and visible and borders between art and daily life are unveiled and crossed.
Urban Explorers is a festival where the thin line between what’s possible and impossible is carefully
examined. Non-existent roads of possibilities are entered with high speed. Their goal is to make the
crossovers blur with the art of sound, performance, movies, music, theater and dance with an interesting
and surprising result.
In a room where once expensive wines from all around the world were resting, soundartist Nico Parlevliet
created unique spaces of sound experiences where you can get to know the work of several artists from
the Netherlands and abroad. Fairy tale like sounds are formed by poetic installations made by the French Pierre Bastien. The connection between sound and architecture is researched by American sound artist Mark Bain and visual
artist Toine Horvers focuses mainly on the voice. Sound is important in everyone’s world, but maybe even
more in the world of a blind person. When Wallrafen, famous for his photographs, turned blind, he fully committed himself to sound. He combines community art with touch sound: sounds that are also tangible by creating an installation with Ricardo Huisman. And last but not least, with a name that might raise frivolous feelings, Margriet Kicks-Ass adds a mesmerizing experience to this this frivolity with her Splashbox: a self made instrument in which water and sounds come together and collide. Fairy tales created in an old wine cellar, how more romantic can it be? Feel, hear and see the sounds at Cellar Noises by Nico Parlevliet.
